Handspun 'Flora' Scarf
This stunning and totally unique scarf will add a touch of whimsy and wow to any outfit and has been created with slow, sustainable fashion in mind. I have blended a variety of colours of Merino Wool and Silk to create a toned down muted 'Spring Garden' inspired shade, and then spun it by hand on my Ashford spinning wheel. Once spun, I plied the handspun yarn with a pale green Tencel yarn. Once the yarn had been washed, dried, skeined, and wound into balls, I crocheted this easy to wear boomerang style scarf and included an Australian wool green scalloped edge and stripe.
Please note that due to the handcrafted characteristics of handspun yarn, there may be slight inconsistencies in thickness and ply, but this is an endearing part of the charm of handspun yarn and ensures that this piece is truly one of a kind.
This scarf is an eco-conscious option, as the fibres are all naturally sustainable and compostable, ensuring that this handcrafted item can return to the earth after many cherished years.
