Handspun Flower Bookmarks

A beautiful simple bookmark that I've created with a crocheted handspun flower and a lovely rustic linen & cotton plait.
These bookmarks are a sweet keepsake for the special book lover in your life and make a thoughtful gift either on their own, or combined with a book or book voucher.
They are created using remnant yarn from my other projects, and are part of my small contribution towards reducing textile waste. The plait simply lays inside the pages of your book while the flower hangs over the front to keep your place secure whilst looking super sweet.
 
The colours in the 'Heather' mat remind me of the Scottish highland, with soft green and heather like purples which combine to create a very soft muted tone with a lovely texture.
'Blueberry' is a stunning combination of blues and purples.
'Umber' is a beautiful combination of natural shades of brown.
'Autumn' is a lovely bronze orange.
'Enchanted' is a very sweet pale purple with other pastel colours throughout.
'Enchanted Cloud' is one strand of 'Enchanted' with one strand of natural cream Mohair.
'Obsidian' is a pearly black with lighter silvery grey flecks throughout
'Pewter Plum' is a beautiful rich purple with silver and grey tones.
'Blizzard' contains gorgeous soft gray tones.
'Olive' is a muted rustic green.
'Teal' is a deep turquoise blue.
'Russet' is an autumn red/orange and 'Brick' is similar but with added brown tones.
'Latte' is a pale brown/beige that is quite similar to hessian.
'Natural Cotton' is exactly that, a natural creamy colour and created with handspun cotton.
'Moss' is a variegated blend of muted greens.
'Mulled Wine' is a gorgeous deep burgundy red.
'Meadow' is a slightly muted yet fresh green.
 
Please note that due to the beautiful unique characteristics of handspun yarn, there may be slight differences between the size and appearance of the flowers.
 
These bookmarks are an eco-conscious option, as the fibres  are naturally sustainable and compostable, ensuring that this handcrafted item can return to the earth after many cherished years, rather than adding to the enormous problem of textile waste produced by the mass made industry.
