‘Rustic’ Nalbinding Cowl

‘Rustic’ Nalbinding Cowl

$45.00Price

This is my very first item created with the ancient Viking Nalbinding technique, and as such is quite rustic and totally unique. The cowl has been stitched with cream 100% Australian wool and enhanced with pieces of my own handspun yarn which are a variety of Australian wools from Sheep and Alpaca. It is suitable for anyone but would be especially perfect for those who are interested in historical crafts or attend medieval re-enactment events.

Please note that due to the handcrafted characteristics of handspun yarn, there may be slight inconsistencies in thickness and ply, but this is an endearing part of the charm of handspun yarn and ensures that this piece is truly one of a kind - see photos for examples.

This cowl is an eco-conscious option, as the decorative fibres are all left over (remnants from other projects), and all materials are naturally sustainable and compostable, ensuring that this handcrafted item can return to the earth after many cherished years.
